How to combine business and pleasure
What are your specific requirements? The Transporter Kombi is ready to fulfil them. A high degree of flexibility is ensured by a modular system, available as an option, which enables the 3-seater bench seat to be secured in any of the seating rows – depending on how much additional load space you require. Right from the short wheelbase version there is room for up to nine people. The Kombi with long wheelbase offers up to nine seats – depending on the layout, there is either plenty of stowage space combined with two rows of seats in the passenger compartment and a 2-seater front passenger bench seat; or plenty of freedom of movement for passengers with three rows of seats in the passenger compartment and a single front passenger seat. The sliding door on the right provides comfortable access when getting in and out of the vehicle. A roof-high sliding door can be supplied on request for the Transporter with high roof.
You can have additional comfort and security at the touch of a button with central locking plus radio wave control which is available as an option. Side panel trim in the passenger compartment, and a headlining in the cab are standard. The efficient heating and ventilation system has a separate heat exchanger so that there is always a good atmosphere during the journey. An air conditioner at front and rear is available as an extra. On medium high roof and high roof versions of the Transporter, this is supplied as provision for an air conditioner.
A model of versatility with plenty of space
It takes only a matter of moments to create an individual interior with a high load capacity.
The short wheelbase model is obtainable with one or two rows of seats in the passenger compartment.
- A 2-seater bench seat with armrest is available for the first row of seats, or a 2-seater bench seat plus folding single seat.
- A double-folding 3-seater bench seat is available for the second row of seats.
The Kombi with long wheelbase is obtainable with one, two or three rows of seats in the passenger compartment
- A 2-seater bench seat with armrest is available for the first row of seats, or a 2-seater bench seat plus folding single seat with easy entry function. This makes access easier for passengers on the rear row of seats.
- A 2-seater bench seat with armrest is available for the second row, or a double-folding 3-seater bench seat.
- A 3-seater bench seat with folding backrest is available for the third row. Those who do not have to convey so many passengers have all the more load space for luggage.
A workplace you will feel at ease in. You deserve no less
The Transporter Kombi is a real workhorse yet its handling characteristics and convenient functions offer much more. Ergonomic seats make for enjoyable driving. They can be adjusted longitudinally and, as an optional extra, also have a height adjustment.
Height-adjustable seats or swivelling seats with lumbar support and armrests can be ordered as optional extras. Every driver therefore has an optimal sitting position – particularly since there is a standard height and rake adjustment for the steering wheel. The equipment is rounded off by a conveniently placed joystick gear lever, a clearly arranged instrument panel, and a well thought out storage compartment system featuring plenty of stowage space, a large glove compartment, many integral storage facilities, a cup holder, and more.
An air conditioner is available as an option to create a pleasant atmosphere inside the Transporter. If one front passenger is not enough, a 2-seater front passenger bench seat with integral stowage compartment is available as an option so that there is room for three in the cab.
You concentrate on your customers and your schedule. And who concentrates on your safety?
You receive a call and are on your way– it is therefore reassuring to know that the Transporter has top marks when it comes to safety. With an electronic stabilisation programme (ESP) including brake assist system, anti-lock brake system (ABS), electronic differential lock (EDL), and traction control system (TCS) it offers a complete package so that you arrive safely in all weathers. In addition, vehicles with front-wheel drive feature engine braking control (EBC). This prevents the driving wheels breaking away on slippery surfaces when quickly taking your foot off the accelerator, or when reengaging the clutch after changing down.
Airbags for the driver and front passenger are standard, also 3-point inertia reel seat belts on all seats. Two side airbags plus two curtain airbags in the cab are available as options for nearly all vehicle versions. Independent suspension gives very stable roadholding and the supreme engines assure active safety under all load conditions – so that you can take every traffic situation in your stride and arrive at your customers in good shape.
