Its 4XMOTION all-wheel drive is permanently engaged, enabling ideal power transmission, even at low engine speeds. That means that superb traction and optimum handling are all part of the package for the Touareg.

Light – optimum visibility for your safety

The powerful bi-xenon headlights with cornering light optimise both full and dip beam by turning with the vehicle when cornering. A sensor ensures that the headlights are automatically switched on when dusk sets in (standard for the V10 TDI). With the aid of the "Coming home" function and the "Leaving home" function, the area around the Touareg is illuminated for up to 90 seconds by the headlights, the rear lights and the spots in the door mirrors. 

The V8 – a novelty in terms of drive technology

The Touareg is the first Volkswagen to sport an eight-cylinder engine with petrol direct injection. The new Touareg V8 FSI is a masterful combination of the superior economy of the six-cylinder FSI engine and 350 progressive horsepower, with maximum torque of 440 Nm and a top speed of up to 244 km/h. (Fuel consumption: 13.8 l/100 km; CO2 emissions: 329 g/km).
