Darkness knows no shape.
New lines pave the way.
They form an ideal shape.
The sun will reveal it.
And complete it.

TDI, FSI

The dynamic heart of the Golf GTI, the specially developed 2.0 l FSI engine delivering 147 kW (200 bhp) of power output (CO2 emissions: 190-194 g/km), for the first time combines the advantages of direct fuel injection with a turbocharger, and in the range from 1,800 to 5,100 rpm develops a hefty 280 Nm of torque.

Responsive

Golf GTI

The GTI features a six-speed manual transmission. Together with the FSI turbo engine, it propels the GTI from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.2 seconds. The newly developed dual-clutch gearbox DSG does it even more quickly - in just 6.9 seconds.

The Golf GTI is designed for performance from front to back. Its chassis has been lowered 15 millimetres compared to the standard Golf, and fitted with stronger anti-roll bars. The electromechanical power steering has been adapted in line with the dynamic character of the GTI. And the ventilated disc brakes stop the thoroughbred sports model at a safe, ultra-efficient rate.

Safe

Golf GTI

Typical GTI: the enlarged brake discs and red brake callipers are in keeping with the special performance of the model. In terms of other safety features, too, the GTI is ideally equipped, from the anti-lock braking system and a minimum of six airbags to the Electronic Stabilisation Programme.
